Redesign your room to make it have a Boho/Bohemian look! To have a true boheme bedroom, it is not about someone telling you how to make your room, but by you creating art, by doing whatever you want to your room that you feel looks good, and having a room that expressess your personality. But if you personality is not bohemeish, e.g. you are very neat and dont like to have random things, than your room might not look very boho! So follow these steps to either xpress your boho-ness or use these steps to make your room look boho even if your not...
Start looking for some nice boho-looking things:
- Old, vintage furniture is very bohemian, you can get this from second hand shops.
- Interesting, beautiful, vintage clothing and jewelery.
- Different kind of patterned material that you like, you can get this from anywhere, especially fabric stores!
- Mirrors can look really good, especially big ones with nice frames.
- Incense, and incense holders are very boho, especially interesting ones.
You should also start collecting/buying other random beautiful, interesting things just because you like the look of them. You can collect things like vases, teapots, pots, dolls, purses, posters, pictures, picture frames, and anything else that you see that you like! You can get these things from places like, op-shops, second hand clothes shops, second hand book shops and many other places.
Once you have some of the boho things listed above, you can start putting around your room!
You can take away furniture in your room that looks too modern if you want, but modern furniture mixed with vintage-other stuff can still look boho. So most importantly take away any furniture that you don't like, or feel you don't want anymore, and replace it with either a really plain piece of furniture, or something vintage, or just something you like!
You can place your mirror where you want, but a good idea is to place it above a chest of draws or table so you can create a sort of dressing-table.
On the dressing table you can put vases, teapots and other pots on it, and on them you can put earrings, bracelets, or any other things you can think of.
Something that looks good is hanging necklaces over the corner of you mirror, you can also do this with beads, knotted string, shoelaces, cool strings and other long stringy-things.
You can cover the table with lots of make-up, even if you don't use it, just cause it looks good!
You can also write things on your mirror or draw things on it with make-up, and stick things on it with blue-tack.
Sticking lots of random pretty things around your mirror looks really good, and sprinkling glitter, bows, sequins looks cool sometimes.
To create interesting curtains you can get some pieces of interesting material, that can clash colours and patterns if you want. Sew them together so they are of a rectangular/ square shape (depending on the shape of your window), and then sew one of the edges in so that you can put a piece of string or elastic through it to create curtains.
Get a cork board, and pin a piece of material onto it. Then put whatever you want on it! Pin pictures of friends and family, but out little pictures you like in magazines, pin beads and/or string onto it, write on it! Things that inspire you, or look really cool.
Leave bottles of Absinth everywhere - the true bohemian drink!
